At long last, we're just sailing out of Dover harbour to Shakespeare Beach, we're a bit later than we origninally intended but everything is looking good at the moment.
It's a 7 metre tide so there's a lot of water movement up and down the Channel - think of it as the current in a river (a 21 mile wide river!) that we're swimming across - so the first couple of swimmers (we go Adam, Chris, Tony, me) have to swim like a gud 'un to get away from the coast: Eddie said he needs 110%.

Way to go Colin! I've been checking the blog and was on the verge of forgetting about it since it's gone so long when.... they're off! Good Luck to you and your team. We're rooting for you. I went for a swim at Sue and Paul's yesterday and that felt cold so heaven knows what it's like for you. Keep it up - Some bloke that cycled Land's End to John O Groats said Jelly Babies are good!
